Dia Mirza born on 9 December 1981 in Hyderabad,Andhra Pradesh, India,she is an Indian model and actress and Miss Asia Pacific for the year 2000. She was also second runner up in the Miss India 2000 beauty contest. Her father, Frank Handrich was a German interior designer while mother Deepa is a Bengali Indian. Her parents divorced when she was six years of age. At nine, her father passed away and her mother married Ahmed Mirza who passed away in 2004. Dia is inherently from Hyderabad where she did her schooling from Vidyaranya High School followed by Nasr School. But currently she stays at Bandra, Mumbai.
Due to the responsibilities of her title and modelling assignments Dia was unable to finish her graduation.
She made her debut on the big screen with ‘Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein’ in 2001. The movie did not do well at the box office and was unable to launch her acting career with a roar. Following this movie Dia has continued to make her presence felt in the industry.
Dia has a pleasing appearance and she is expected to give some good performances in her impending films in 2009.
